Rudolf Portillo began his career after graduating with merit awards from the New York Institute of Photography. He has since gone on to become an award-winning photographer.

Before joining the Brunei-based newspaper, Borneo Bulletin. Rudolf worked as a freelance photographer. He is also a "stringer" for International News Wire Agencies and Reuters. His images have appeared in an array of Bruneian and international publications.
